My research interests are primarily focused around machine learning. My work aims to understand learning algorithms from a theoretical prospective while applying them to problems in natural language and web based applications. In addition to the publications below focusing on shallow parsing, semantic role labeling, complex-labeled output learning (i.e. multi-class classification and ranking) and approximation algorithms for SVM, I have worked worked on practical systems for shallow parsing, semantic role labeling, web page classification, text snippet classification, core web ranking (and re-ranking), and content based collaborative filtering.
